February 16, 2011 IBM has designed a computer to be the Smartest Machine on Earth. As a former psychology major, who concentrated on perception, and now a professional photographer, I find AI and machine learning fascinating. I am looking forward to the practical applications of this technology: Dr Watson, Watson MD, and Skynet. Even if you don’t believe that, you must know that Cantonese and Mandarin are simply diverse dialects based off of Chinese; they are dialects that have become the most widespread.
If THIS isn’t enough, we see that Watson’s second most likely answer is Chinese. Who do you think is smarter you, or a supercomputer designed to know the possible answers to most everything? I know I’m not.
Mandarin and Cantonese are both dialects..as is Hakka, Hokkien etc, and although Chinese in itself is not a language, all of the dialects mentioned above is collectively known as ‘Chinese language’
