Self Awareness through Meditation and Spiritual Exercises
Event on 2012-11-17 15:30:00
> Who are we? Where do we come from? Why are we here?
> These are all existential questions that all of us try to answer whether we are in our youth, middle age or in old age. Our answers, or indeed the lack of answers to these important questions define how we live our lives; as well as give shape to our lives and destiny.
> Increasingly the materialist approach to these questions and the results that it yields is proving to be inadequate in terms of providing satisfactory answers to these questions. Therefore, in response more and more people are turning to spirituality in order to answer these questions; as they are also dissatisfied with the answers they receive from dogmatic religious practices that are often coloured by superstitions. Different spiritual paths attempt to answer these questions in different manner. The search for answers and the results one attains is indeed part of the Journey of self awareness and enlightenment. This journey and results one attains during it provide one with true fulfillment.
> Sufism which is an ancient spiritual path and branch of Gnosticism attempts to answer these age old questions by taking each seeker on journey of self awareness where the start and end point of the journey is in oneself. This journey starts by moving the seeker from his/her false-self (one’s ego) to his/her true-self (essential soul). The answers that each spiritual path provides to these questions must be compared on basis of rationality and effectiveness of reaching ones objective. In Sufism which is inherently the science of mystical rhythms this journey of self awareness is undertaken with the aid of ancient mystical rhythms and meditation techniques under the guidance of spiritual master or guide.
> Through this journey of self discovery one not only finds satisfactory, and fulfilling answers to the above questions but one also changes his/her perspective on life to one of love, tolerance and respect for each individual and creature without dogma and superstition.
> Everyone is welcomed to undertake this journey of self discovery irrespective of race, religion or gender. In this journey no one with sincerity is excluded and no predisposition, or previous experience is required. There are as many paths to Enlightenment as there are human hearts. So come and bring your sincere heart and start your journey of self discovery!!
