I have been aware of how very dangerous ignorance is for a long time. I despise ignorance, I see it as the single most route of all hardship and suffering in this world.
I first became aware of this after watching, and then reading, Charles Dickens’ A Christmas Carol, where the Ghost of Christmas Present shows Scrooge two children that cling to him. He say that the girl is Want, and the boy is Ignorance. Then he goes on to say beware then both, but beware the boy (Ignorance) the most.
Well, I’ve no believe in God, such is the result of my lack of ignorance. That is why the great religious organizations of this world are strongest in third world countries: they prey on the ignorant. Ignorance is the friend of all religions, for the more educated there are in a society, the less belief in God there will be. That being said, you don’t have to be religious or believe in God for the words in this video to have meaning; they still remain true.
