A new documentary film, entitled Discretion and Faith which delves into Global Infidelity On a Personal and Communal Level is launching a fundraising campaign!
Does it happen to everyone? How could I be such a smart person, yet be completely blind and dumb? asks Michael LaPointe, director of Discretion and Faith. After experiencing his own affair, LaPointe spent time searching for answers. In order to help him cope with the loss of his first love, LaPointe began to record and film conversations with adulterers and victims of infidelity. At first he encountered a very hushed community. However, once adulterers began to open up and discuss their affairs, their once secretive actions ignited a tell all phenomenon. Adulterers, in front of a camera, began to knowing tell the details of their infidelity in much more significant specifics than they ever told their cuckold spouses. In psychological terms, the camera became a confidante. Which begs the question, what are the socials laws that govern this peculiar behavior of once someone in the community begins to divulge their secrets, the rest of the community follows?
Within the filming of the feature length documentary with the full title Discretion and Faith: The Global Cultures of Infidelity, the phenomenon opened up a detailed dialogue about adultery and relationships from adulterers within all corners of the world.
